What questions do you have about breastfeeding? Guiding Star Wakota offers The Milky Way, a service that supports nursing mothers by providing one-on-one consultation with a Certified Lactation Counselor.

Lactation Support Includes:

• • Assessment and suggestions for getting a good latch
  • Information for adjusting milk supply when needed
  • Help with how to use and clean a breast pump
  • Breastmilk storage and usage
  • Best bottle-feeding practices
  • General nutrition guidance for breastfeeding women
  • Easing the transition back to work, including pumping schedule, etc.
  • Resources/referrals as appropriate

This service is free, and all breastfeeding mothers are welcome! No appointment is necessary, and no insurance is required.

Hours of Service:
Mondays, and Thursdays from 1-5 p.m. Drop in with your baby for one-on-one breastfeeding consultation. Child Watch is available during one-on-one breastfeeding consultation.
