OUR STORY

In 1976, a small group of volunteers opened a modest rented space in West St. Paul with little more than $764 in the bank and a deep commitment to serving women in need. Fifty years later, that seed of hope has grown into Guiding Star Wakota, a thriving 10,000-square-foot center offering wholistic care. Our services include pregnancy support and material assistance to mental health counseling and community referrals. The faces have changed, but the mission never has: every woman deserves to be seen, supported, and empowered.

Our Guiding Star Connection

Guiding Star Wakota is an affiliate location of The Guiding Star Project — a U.S. based family of women’s wholistic healthcare centers. The Guiding Star Project’s affiliate locations share a vision for empowering women to understand, embrace, and love their wonderful bodies. We facilitate the work of compassionate healthcare providers who serve women and families in convenient, professional Guiding Star locations. We’re creating the “new norm” in women’s healthcare.

Our integrative model of care honors the full design of a woman—mind, body, and spirit—by supporting her natural fertility, childbirth, breastfeeding, and motherhood through every stage of her life.

Rooted in respect for biological reality and her inherent dignity, this approach connects the dots between physical health, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual purpose, offering compassionate, life-affirming care that trusts her body rather than suppresses it.

We call this approach Wholistic Women’s Healthcare© and it is exclusively available at Guiding Star Tampa Bay and our other physical centers nationwide.
